Awesome Day

Today for morning greeting, we filled out a "Little Known Fact" about ourselves and greeted our classmates with it.  Some facts were our favorite foods, pets, football teams, things we liked to do, or just things about ourselves.  For our group activity, we blindfolded someone in our class and one person left in the hallway.  We took off the blindfold and that person had to guess who was missing.  We will do more of that this week.


We reviewed the "I PICK" strategy for choosing books and we all chose new books for our book bin.  In writing we finished writing about our favorite body part.  Mrs. McCarville will take the pictures of them tomorrow.  


In math we worked on graphs and math boxes.

1st Day of Science

Today we practiced our morning greeting.  Guten Tag Parents!  We went to the cafeteria and talked about our rules for that area.  We found out two ways to read a book: read the pictures and read the words.  We completed a "Back to School Times" writing page for our portfolio.  In math, we worked on number grids and counting down and up by 10 and right and left by ones.  We were scientists and made a hypothesis on pouring liquids together.  None of us guessed right!  Tonight we have to bring our own liquid for our own experiment in science tomorrow.  We also need to remember our bags for tomorrow if they are not in.  Have a fabulous night!

1st Day of Math

Today we started our Morning Greeting by greeting one another in different languages.  Our favorite was between "Konnichiwa" and "Guten Tag."  We practiced showing Cadet Pride in the hallway and restroom.  We were able to see how our classroom library was organized and began making our "All About Me T-Shirt."  We also keep working on filling one another's bucket with compliments.  We started math today and searched for numbers in our classroom.  We also went to library and checked out books.  We have 2 weeks to keep our books.  Now we have to go home and we are all sooooooo SAD!  We wish we could stay the night here.

1st Day Down

We have officially completed our very first day of school for this year.  We were definitely busy getting organized and getting to know one another.  We enjoyed a grade level scavenger hunt outside too.  It was a busy day and we are all feeling a little tired!  Have a great evening!

Welcome to our classroom blog for the 2011-2012 school year.  The class will get many opportunities to post on the blog so hopefully we have many people who read what we are doing in the classroom.  I am excited to work with all of you this year.  I hope that you enjoyed stopping in the classroom tonight and are looking forward to coming to school tomorrow!  Hopefully I can get a good night's sleep because I am both nervous and excited for the first day of school!  I will see you tomorrow morning!
