For a writing assignment that was completed at the beginning of the year, the class was asked to decide what was the best part of them. They listed reasons why they chose their best part and then pictures were taken of their best part. Try and find your child's picture, although some are obvious!

Dear Parent(s),
We are now starting our last component of our daily “Morning Meeting.” Every day the students come in at the beginning of the day and have a morning message, classroom greeting, and a group activity. We have recently discussed our last part of the morning meeting, which is the sharing portion. In class, we have discussed what to share, questioning while sharing, and appropriate behaviors while sharing. Today I am sending home a list of when your child is to share for the week. There will be times when your child will be asked to bring in specific things, but most times your child can bring in a free choice item or share something that he/she did. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. Thanks!

Homework for Parents?
Today I have assigned a homework assignment for you, the parents. I sent a note home explaining a writing project that we are doing based off the book Who is Melvin Bubble?. The class is super excited about for this project to be completed at school and at home. Please read the note sent home with your child today and complete it by Monday. Have a great time with it and be creative when you share. I cannot wait to read them!
Have a great night!

It's Friday!
We were very surprised to have a 2-hour late start because of the storms this morning! It made our day go super fast but we still had to work a little harder and quicker to get things done. We truly enjoyed our group activity this morning as we played "Hot potato" (not with a real potato!). We tossed a ball around while listening to Justin Bieber sing "Baby." Mason won the game. Lucky Duck! We worked on finding the difference between numbers in math and were shown some new websites for math games that Mrs. McCarville is adding to the blog today! She showed us a basketball game for practicing math facts, even though she was not shooting the basketball that well. In science, we planted some peas, clover, and grass with our bean plants. We are going to be using these plants for our other animals that will come later this month, so we need to make sure we take care of them.
By the way, we DO have homework for this weekend in math. We wished we could have more! Just kidding!
Adios,
