More Snow?

It appears that March is going to come in like a lion!  Well, that can only mean that it will be nice at the end of the month, right?  Since we have more snow, please see that your child is prepared and bringing in his or her boots and snow pants.

Last week and this week, we are going to be celebrating reading!  On Friday, we watched the original movie "The Lorax" and then decided on some ways we can save the environment.  For fun, we cut out Lorax mustaches and took pictures of ourselves using "Photo Booth."  We then blogged our ways of saving the environment and inserted our pictures looking like the Lorax.  Check out the pictures on our kids blog site (this is located in our "Information to Remember" section of the blog).  Check out Hunter looking like the Lorax!

To continue to celebrate reading, we are celebrating it with "Read Across America," "Dr. Seuss's birthday," and "World Read Aloud Day."  We are going to have "Seuss Soup," have some special guest reader for "World Read Aloud Day" on March 6th, and continue to read and celebrate Dr. Seuss!  We are excited to hear Governor Branstad Skype and read to us!

Speaking of Skyping, we had our Mystery Skype on Monday.  We were able to figure out the class we were skyping, were from Canada.  We narrowed it down to the southeastern part of Canada, near Newfoundland, and they narrowed down our location to Iowa.  As we ran out of time, we had to tell them our city and they did the same.  They are from Miramichi, New Brunswick.  We plan on connecting with them again in the upcoming weeks!  How fun!  If your child would like to look for facts about this community, feel free to look up information with your child.
